Fancy Diamonds: The Asscher Cut

Fancy cut diamonds are a great start to creating a unique look in any piece of jewelry. Diamonds come in a wide range of interesting shapes, like the familiar oval, pear, princess, emerald and marquise. We recently helped a customer create a stunning engagement ring (shown below) – a 14k rose gold Sholdt solitaire mounting with a beautiful asscher cut diamond. An Asscher cut is an 8-sided, square-looking diamond, with broad facets, similar to an emerald cut. They have a simple, classic beauty to them, and the textured fern finish of the band really helps to highlight this unique stone! We had to steal a few quick photos before it left the store. Stunning, right? Congratulations to a very happy couple and new bride-to-be!
