Old Stones, New Rings

Each of these custom rings was designed around stones from old or unworn jewelry, brought to life through CAD. The grey wax ring shown in each project is a prototype — try it on, make any changes, and then it’s cast in precious metal. Read on to see how three customers gave their stones a second life!

Blue Gemstone Fashion Ring

The monochromatic blue scheme in this piece uses various hues of blue to create a harmonious and calming appearance. Our customer repurposed two round Swiss blue topaz and one oval blue zircon within the design, and hand-selected the main stone — a radiant-cut teal blue sapphire. Two small round diamonds were incorporated as accents. Each stone is set in its own unique setting: four-prong, half bezel, and full bezel. The end result was a fun and breathtaking ring!

Diamond Band

This was a gorgeous diamond ring project that utilized our customer’s diamonds from various pieces of old jewelry. The straight baguette diamonds were from her original engagement ring. The round brilliant-cut diamonds were a mixture of family stones and repurposed stones from fashion pieces that she no longer wore. The subtle taper of stone sizes provide an elegant profile that can be worn every day.

Diamond and Ruby Cluster Ring

If you have marquise-shaped stones that you no longer wear, repurposing them into a stunning asymmetrical cluster ring is a lovely option. This customer specifically requested a design that was intentionally unbalanced with a low profile. She used stones taken from the ring and earrings shown below. We love the ruby marquise stones in this piece. It turned out beautifully!
