Project Spotlight: Mens Wedding Band

Custom work has always been a big part of our business. We have been guilty in the past of not documenting or highlighting the creative work being done at our bench. We’re changing that! We want you to see that we are able to take an idea and bring it to life, and this recent project is a great example.

An engaged couple, Darek and Ally, worked with us on selecting the perfect for ring for Ally. When it came time to discuss wedding bands, they had an idea in mind for Darek’s band. He wanted to incorporate his grandfather’s wedding ring into a new design.

They found an image that they liked and asked if we could make it happen.

We had done similar jobs in the past, and knew this would be a fun project to take on! We prepared the larger white gold band with a groove to inlay his grandfather’s yellow gold ring.

The yellow gold band was reshaped and sized to create a perfect fit.

The two rings were soldered together and filed flat to create a smooth outer band. You can see their idea coming to life!

Groves were cut to highlight separation between the old and new rings.

We added a high polish to the beveled sides and grooves.

Lastly, a textured finish was added to the top.

Projects like these where we are able to repurpose a sentimental piece of jewelry into something that can be worn and enjoyed every day are the most rewarding aspects of the work we do.
