Viva Magenta, the Color of the Year

Viva Magenta! It’s the Color of the Year! (According to Pantone, the design industry standard in all things color.) We enjoy finding a piece in the store to photograph at the start of each year that represents Pantone’s color choice and this ruby and diamond, white gold ring was a perfect choice. According to Pantone, Viva Magenta is “brave and fearless, a pulsating color whose exuberance promotes a joyous and optimistic celebration.” It was interesting to read that this hue is inspired by the red of cochineal (which is an insect! Had to google it, do the same!) one of the strongest and brightest natural dye’s the world has known.
